Preppy Perfection: Our Girl Friday

With summer a mere month away, most women are on the hunt for the perfect lightweight sweater. Well, you can officially halt the hounds! Look no further than Lacoste’s Cotton-Cashmere V-Neck. The iconic croc has crafted the perfect blend of feathery cotton (85%) and cozy cashmere (15%) that’s suitable for the solstice. This great layering piece comes in a variety of shades ranging from the whisper white “Mother of Pearl” (perfect for the polo game perusal) to the heathery noir black (just right for a starry night alfresco). And the best news - it’s currently on sale on the Lacoste website! With a price cut of over $80 dollars, it’s a spring steal at $58. Paired with a flirty tennis skirt or a crisp pair of white jeans, this sweater is a chic, updated take on a country club classic.

Spring Showers: Introducing our Friday Blogger

An ode to the silver blue skies of spring, Essie’s Sag Harbor bridges the gap between winter whites and summer brights. This grey blue opaque shade is simply a mani must for April. Plus, it’s not a budget buster – at under $5, any girl can afford to incorporate it into their polish portfolio. Part of the North Fork Limited Edition Collection, this cool blend of steel and blue is reminiscent of the white-capped turquoise swells of the Atlantic. Maybe it will even score you an i-banking sailor? Ahoy, Matey!

Happy Earth Day!

I thought, in honor of Earth Day, I'd share with you my favorite "green thing" I own. It all started with a little movie, Food Inc. I highly suggest everyone watch it, it really will change the way you eat. For the better! And if you're in Houston, here is an excellent opportunity to see it with Top Chef Master's Monica Pope!
After seeing that incredible film, I committed to eating healthier, one little bit at a time. I started cutting out my daily diet cokes. It's been hard, but I've fallen in love with Pellegrino. I've started to replace all my cokes with sparkling water. But I soon realized all the plastic and glass bottles, not to mention, the cost, was really adding up. I did some research and found this exquisite machine. It's a SodaStream Penguin Water Carbonator. I got mine at Williams-Sonoma. It was two hundred dollars, but when I think about how many bottles of sparkling water and Italian sodas I've made so far, I know it was a wise choice. Vickie definitely agrees. This appliance is so great because it doesn't need any batteries and it's beyond simple to use. Also, once the carbonated cartridges are used up, you can recycle them or refill them for a discount at Williams-Sonoma. There are so many of these on the market if you're not interested in spending so much on a machine. Here is a great place to start looking. If you have a favorite "green thing," please share in the comments! I'd love to know other ways we can help our environment.

Great News!

I am so excited I have a place to write down all my favorite things AND I get to share them with all of my friends, I decided to stay up and compile a list of my favorites for summer. As I was looking for images, I was lucky enough to stumble upon one of my most favorite finds...OF ALL TIME! (I will use any excuse to show this. Gets me every time.) Moving on... so many girls ask me where I got this bracelet when I wear it. It might not look like much in the picture, but it is amazing. It slips right on and goes with everything. Here is the link and it's ON SALE. I think I might stock up as well, it's the perfect little gift. I would also suggest taking time to look at the rest of Simply Vera for Kohl's, you can't go wrong, everything is top notch.
Until tomorrow...goodnight!

Just One Last Thing...

I am LOVING this little weekend bag from J.Crew. And if you are one of the two visitors here, you know how much I love J.Crew. Plus it's under forty dollars, which makes me want to buy it. Yesterday. But I won't, I'll wait until I lose ten pounds. I've already lost six, so I'm going to go not have dinner tonight so I can order it this week. Just kidding. Here is where I'll be getting it

Just One of Those Days...

I though you could use a little laugh...
